Principal's Letter |
Welcome to all 2009-2010 Our Lady of Consolation School families. You have placed your children in our care for the purpose of providing spiritual and academic growth. This is a tremendous responsibility, and we can achieve success only if we work together. Supporting school policies and decisions is vital. Respecting your rights as parents is just as important. Good communication is the key!
If you have questions or concerns, you are encouraged to follow this procedure:
1. If your question or concern is specifically about your child or your child's class, first contact the teacher involved. If the issue is resolved, great! If not, contact the principal. If you are still not satisfied, contact the pastor or an Advisory Council member.
2. If the question or concern involves school policies, contact the principal first. If the issue is not resolved, contact the pastor or an Advisory Council member.
Please don't hesitate to call the school if you have a question. Remember, the only stupid question is the one you never asked!
OLC has a proud tradition of academic and personal excellence. With your help this school year will strengthen the tradition!
Thanks for all the ways you support our teachers, our school, and our parish.
Miss Schott
PARENTS ARE A CHILD'S MOST IMPORTANT TEACHER!
Demonstrate a positive attitude toward education and school.
Prepare your child to succeed. Make sure he/she: gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, dresses appropriately, practices good hygiene, comes to school prepared.
Teach your child the importance of respect and good manners.
Spend quality family time together - listen to your child!
Know who your child's friends are.
Encourage your child to develop responsibility for his/her actions.
Remember that no one is perfect. Praise EFFORT as well as success.
Make sure your child knows and believes he/she is valued and loved.
Make time for family prayer and Mass attendance.
Model the behaviors you want your child to learn.
Demonstrate your commitment to sharing time, talent, and treasure.
Trust in God! Talk to Him often. He always has time to listen, just don't forget to listen for His reply. Let your child witness your faith in action!
