Extracurricular Activities |
TIC (Trojans In Charge)
OLC students in grades 6-8 have the opportunity to participate in TIC (Trojans In Charge). TIC provides first hand experience for students in the methods and procedures of democratic government. In addition, TIC sponsors special activities throughout the school year. TIC elections are held in the spring. Two or three representatives are elected from each class (6-8). Eighth graders may run for the office of Co-President. Seventh and eighth graders may run for secretary, treasurer, and Sergeant-at-arms.

MUSIC
1) All students in Grades K-4 will have two music classes a week
2) Students in Grades 5-8 will attend either instrumental music (band) or general music two periods a week. (Note: Until band begins, all 5th graders will attend general music.)
SAFETY PATROL
Students in grades 5-8 volunteer to assist students crossing Clay Street before and after school.
SPORTS
OLC parish youth have the opportunity to participate in CYO Sports offered for their grade level. These include girtls volleyball (gr. 5-8), boys and girls basketball (gr. 5-8), and boys and girls track (gr. 4-8). Our school also sponsors a football team and a football cheerleading squad which are not part of the CYO program.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Students in grades four through six are issued an invitation to join the National Elementary Honor Society if they have met the Society's criteria, which includes academic, leadership, service, citizenship, and character components. Students are invited to join following the semester of fourth grade if they meet the Society's criteria. Students may then continue membership as long as they continue to meet the criteria. Other students are issued invitations to join in the fall of any school year in which they have met all criteria. Students in grades seven and eight are eligible to join the National Junior Honor Society if they meet the Society's criteria.
